Happy New Year And My New Year’s Resolution

Hi, blogger, this is Maya. I’m a little bit upset now because my computer is error. I can’t do anything. And my Facebook was also error, I can’t upload photos. I can, but for 5 photos, it took like, hmm… 10 minutes? And I needed to upload like more than 20 photos. Aarrghh.

Okay. I’m sorry about that. Well, I am calm now haha. I won’t let my mood ruin my new year eve. It’s not worth it, by the way. Yeah. It’s New Year’s Eve! Hahahaa.. And.. I want to say Happy New Year all of you! I am so so sorry I didn’t upload the photos or repost my holiday report or post my Singapore trip. I kinda busy a bit lately. Seriously. And my computer was error. The speed of internet was so low too. I didn’t understand. If you wonder where I post this blog, well, I post this on my laptop and my father bought wi-fi so I can access internet from my bedroom (usually in my parent’s room).

When I tried to attach some photos here, it didn’t work out. Really. And there I was, trying to attach my photos here for like an hour until finally I gave up. Well, I’ll tr to repost my post and post about my Singapore trip later. But I’ll post it. Definitely.

Okay, here we go. Now, in Indonesia, is already 8:30 pm. Do you know what that’s mean, right? It’s almost new year! Yeah! Hahahaa.. And I have a tradition to make a resolution. Don’t laugh but I like to make it. And some of my last year resolution was success. I join Aikido (Japanese Martial Art) this year, I got a holiday (even just a short one) and I failed my IGCSE Examination (okay, it was not a success). But, some of it came true.

Well, my resolution this year (for 2009) are:
1. I HAVE TO improve my grades. Really.
2. Buy a new camera digital and learn more about photography.
3. Learn more of making a film (a short film, of course).
4. Go and explore a new city to get more inspiration for my stories (I’m lack of ideas recently, no, for a year actually and I really know why).
5. Preparing for my TOEFL and AS Level Examination, for sure.

That’s all. Is that too high? Well, I hope not. By the way, I think my grammar is awful, right? I am sorry. Really. I am just too tired lately. Maybe I should do some exercise before coming back to school. Oh, school. I miss to study. Really. I can’t wait for school. It would be fun.

Maybe you guys wondering, why I spend my new year’s eve blogging, not celebrating with party or something. Well, as I said, I am just so tired tonight and I think it would be good for me if I spend my bew year’s eve with my family at home. Actually, we have BBQ right now. Hahaha. My brother and his girlfriend will join us later. So, I guess I should get ready. I won’t miss this New Year’s Eve.

So, everyone! Happy New Year 2009!
Goodbye 2008, Hello 2009! =)

My Holiday Trip - Batam Island

Hi, blogger. It’s been a long time, eh? Yes, you can see from my title post that I went to Batam and Singapore few days ago. Not a very long trip - the trip to Singapore was even the shortest trip I’d ever had - but it was fun. Do you know Batam? If you don’t, then I’ll give you the picture of it. Batam is one of Indonesia’s island. It’s near Singapore. Really. You can even see the silhouette of skyscapers in Singapore from Batam.

After took a one hour flight from Jakarta, we arrived at Batam. I went there with my family. Yeah, cool. When I was at the airport - Hang Nadim Batam Airport - suddenly, all the memories of my last day in Pittsburgh came back to me. I don’t know why but suddenly I remembered all the details. I know I’ve tried hard to not forget that last memories, but suddenly that time, it felt like it just happened yesterday, not 10 years ago.

I thought Batam would be so hot, because everybody who’s been there always said so. But, when I arrived. it was cloudy and a little bit rainy! Hahaha it was a surprise for me, though. Then on that first day, we just did city tour and Barelang Bridge. My mom shopped ’til drop. She shopped a lot of bags. She loves bags, by the way. And I tried to improve my photography skills. You can see the photos here. All of the photos was taken by me. I know it’s still bad or something. I’m just a beginner hahaha..

Barelang Bridge has 7 bridges, connecting from one island to another. When we passed the 4th bridge, we decided to get some food. So we when to a seafood restaurant. Don’t think the restaurant would be good-looking. Tell the truth, but I think it was awful. You can see the photos here. Those are the view from the entrance. Hahaha. But, I think the food was quite good :)

The second day, we went to bag stores again. My mom shopped again. I groaned. Even though I’m also a girl, but I find it boring to shop with my mom. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t mean that I hate shopping with my mom, I do love shopping, but I just bored when all stores just selling bags for adults. You know what I mean. After that, we went to Nagoya Hill - it’s a mall; I didn’t go to Japan - and nothing was really special there. In Jakarta, there are a lot of nicer and greater malls than Nagoya Hill. So, we went there just for sight-seeing and lunch.

It was around 3 pm when my dad’s friend asked us whether we wanted to see Belakang Padang’s island. He said it just take 10 minutes. I thought we were going to pass another bridge that connecting Batam and Belakang Padang. But suddenly, I realized that we were heading to a harbour. I was wrong. We’ll get there using a speed boat. You’ll think it would be a nice boat. But I think you must see these photos. That were the boat.

Well, my mom didn’t like the idea at all. She didn’t want to cross a sea using such a boat. So we’re just taking photos before heading back to the hotel. Before we went back to hotel, we wnt to a resort. A nice resort with view of beach. If you look closer to the sea, you can see Singapore from there. But, still, far away.

The first 2-days were full of surprises, I guess, if you know what I mean. Next post I’ll report my short trip to Singapore! Keep reading! :)

p.s. I can’t upload all the photos now, please be patient =) I’ll edit this post soon with all the photos!

I Am Still A Little Kid After All

Hi, blogger. Here I am. Last Wednesday, I watched Bolt with my best friends. Have you watched it? If you don’t, hurry! I really nice.

Directed by Byron Howard, this film is a story about Bolt, a cute dog which (he thinks) has a superpower. But actually, he has no super power and he just a dog actor which act as a superhero. But when he finds out that Penny (Miley Cyrus) has kidnapped (which is actually one of a movie scene), he tries to save her but made himself lost to New York. So he must find his way to come back to Los Angeles.

If you are a teenager who have seen a lot of movies with different genres, you will say that this movie is too simple and too ordinary. But I think it’s good. I love it. And I surprised that I love it more than Wall-E. I think it’s simple but really touching.

Actually I am really glad Disney made this kind of movie again. Family movie, I guess? Not about technology or animal behavior. Just about a strong relationship between a pet with his owner. Just like Air Bud or Free Willy. Oh my god, I miss those movies a lot.

I find it amusing to watch family movies. I used to watch a lot of family movies such as Free Willy, 101 Dalmatian, Air Bud, Home Alone, Richie Rich, Baby’s Day Out, Hocus Pocus, etc. And I’m still enjoying watch those movies in my age now.

There is one of my friend said that a movie like Bolt is a kid movie and because the story is so simple (because it’s for kids), she doesn’t enjoy it anymore. I am still enjoying kids movies. I watch Disney Channel while my friends watch Grey’s Anatomy. I still love eating a lot of candies and cookies while my friends like to eat lasagna. I feel like I am still a little kid even though I am already 16. Is that normal?

This is my latest photo. I am the one in the middle. I took this photo after I watched Bolt haha.
Well, physically I am 16 (but sometimes I look like 13 or 14) but I think inside of me I’m still 5 or 6. Seriously hahaha. Sometimes my dad treat me like I’m still 5 years old. I think inside of me, I still have my little girl spirit.

Sometimes I thought it’d better if I stay as a little girl forever. I can play whenever I want. I won’t see my family get old. Everything’s would be nice. When that thought come, I will realize that I  am afraid of growing up. I am afraid someday I wake up in the morning and forget how it feels being a little kid. Forget my childhood. Forget that I have a wonderful time with my family. Unforgettable memories.

And that 5-year-old little girl who always cheerful is still live in my heart. I’ll keep her alive forever. I’ll never lost her. If I do, I am nothing. Because nowadays, lots of adults have already forgotten how it feels being a kid. And if you forgot how it feels being a kid, I think it’s terrible. Because the time you were a kid, that is the real you. Still very original and like a blank paper.
You know the fact that kids cannot lie. They say whatever that cross on their mind. They’re very honest. But look at adults nowadays. They lie a lot. And that’s ironic. I don’t say I never lie. I do lie. Sometimes.

Well, that’s for today. Hahaa.. I write too much, don’t I? See you on my next post! Maybe I’ll talk about my resolution for year 2009! =)

My Very First CDs

Hi, blogger, this is me. I am just came home from PIM. I bought my very first CDs. Don’t laugh at me (okay, may be you may) but I never bought a CD in my entire life. I used to buy a cassette. But, since my tape player broken, I never buy it again. And I was too lazy to fix it. CD is something that a bit expensive for me. Really. It doesn’t mean that I live in financial crisis but.. I prefer to save my money than buy a CD that I won’t listen a lot.

And then it came. Twilight Fever. And I do like Twilight Soundtrack. So I decided to buy it. Hahaha. I bought it at a music store in PIM named Born. I am really happy. It costs IDR 75000. And I got a mini poster inside the CD. Edward&Bella Poster. In this soundtrack, I like:

1. Full Moon - The Black Ghosts
2. Eyes on Fire - Blue Foundation
3. Decode - Paramore
4. Flightless Bird, American Mouth - Iron and Wine
5. Bella’s Lullaby - Carter Burwell
6. Supermassive Blackhole - Muse

hehehe.. those are my favourites. I like Full Moon because it remembered me of the scene Bella moved out from Phoenix to Forks and the movie title came out (I think it’s cool!). Eyes on Fire remembered me of the scene Bella waiting for Edward but he didn’t show up for a week. Decode, yeah.. I like the video clip and it’s really ‘twilight’. Flightless Bird, American Mouth remembered me of the prom scene. Bella’s Lullaby is nice and.. Supermassive Blackhole, of course it remembered me of Baseball Scene! Yeah! Hahahaa.. Sorry I am being silly again.

Today, i don’t only buy Twilight Soundtrack but also High School Musical 3 : Senior Year Soundtrack! Hahahaha..

I like the soundtrack a lot. The songs are very fun, make me want to sing it again and again and again. Make me want to dance. Hahahaha. Cheerful songs and movie. I like it. My favorites are :

1. Righ Here, Right Now
2. Now Or Never
3. Can I Have This Dance?
4. Walk Away
5. Just Wanna Be With You
6. A Night To Remember
7. High School Musical
8. I Want It All

hahahaa.. It’s fun, buying all this stuff. Really. Hehehe. I will always play Twilight and HSM 3 Soundtrack for the next (at least) 2 weeks. Hahaha. Oh yeah, I almost forget. I bought The Tales Of Beedle The Bard by J.K. Rowling too! =) But I haven’t read it yet. It even still sealed.

I hope it’s good. But my friend who has already read it said that the story is as great as Harry Potter. I hope she is right. Hahaha. Can’t wait to read. But I can’t read it for the next 3 days, I think =(

Well, that’s for today (actually for tonight!) thanks for reading this post. I hope you guys will buy Twilight and HSM 3 Soundtrack and The Tales Of Beedle The Bard too! Hehehehe..
See ya’! =)

My School Life

Hi, blogger. Thanks for keep reading my blog =)

Now I wanna write about my school life. It doesn’t seem that my school life suck or something, but.. well, I have one-two things that I really confused about.

Like in my first post, I said that I want to study abroad to USA for undergraduate degree. But my parents can’t afford it unless I get a scholarship (but a scholarship for bachelor degree is so rare in Indonesia!) And suddenly today I am thinking about whether is better to study in Australia than in USA for bachelor then go to USA for master. But, I still want to study in USA for undergraduate degree. I am really confused.

And, in order to get a really great grade in class, I studied harder than anyone and I don’t know why, my grade just improve a bit. I know it’s a good thing but I still can’t defeat the smartest kid in my class. And my goal is to defeat her. Because I study hard and paying full attention to teachers, I am not up to date anymore.

I know, basically, I am really shy which is one thing that I really hate about myself. I have a lot of friend, but when I am gathering together with them, there are still some moments when I don’t talk at all because I don’t know what to say. I don’t know the latest news around us sometimes and it makes me sad. My best friend and others have time to have a crush, but all the time, in my mind, I always think of how to get a good grade and scholarship so I can’t study abroad to USA. Well, what should I choose? I don’t understand. And I hate that I am still become a shy girl. I am curious how people can talk freely and tease each other like that. I don’t know how to interact with people.

Adaptation. I have a big problem with that one. Any advice? Please tell me. How to gain a confidence and something like that.

Oh yeah, by the way, I don’t mad anymore because I don’t get a holiday. I can understand the reason now. And beside that, my dad promises me to let me join EF Summer Homestay 2009! Hooray! But I still don’t decide which city will I go. Any advice? But I am thinking about going to New York haha.

And about Twilight Soundtrack CD, I finally find a way to get it. No, I won’t rob a bank. Hahaha.
Okay then. See you on my next post. Hope you enjoy this post. Please give me advices, okay?

All I Want To Have For Now Is A Holiday With My Family

They did it again. Promising me something big then cancel it in the last minute. My heart’s aching. I don’t mean to make a small problem become a bigger problem, but they did it not once. They said we are gonna go to Hongkong this Christmas’s Holiday (even though we don’t celebrate Christmas because we are Muslim). I already have a lot of plans. Where we will going, what things I’ll hunt there (include Twilight Soundtrack CD and Twilight The Score CD) and what experience I will get there.

But then, my mother said that it is being canceled. Why? Since last year, I don’t get any holiday. I had a holiday on October 2007 (we went to Singapore) but it’s just another short-trip. Just 3 days. And my holiday before that one was even worse. We went to Bali on my birthday (June 2007) and we just there for one night only.

I always imagining a long holiday. A week at least. Go to somewhere around the world to find an unique culture and meet people from another countries. That’s my dream. Because I am too tired with my life now and need something new. New breath. New city. But I am not in the mood to go to somewhere in Indonesia and see ancient culture. Traditional thing. I am looking for something new. New life, new city, urbanization.

Summer 2009. I have to go somewhere. Really. I am thinking of join EF Homestay Program like my friend did last year. I am sure I’ll get lots of experience and friends.

And.. I already hoped too high on going to Hongkong to hunt Twilight CD. But now it seems impossible for me.Where should I get it in Indonesia? I won’t do shopping online. Sigh.

Another Hunting

Hi! I want to tell you that today I am hunting Twilight Movie Companion (Twilight English Version with movie poster as the cover). Oh my god, I’m so happy! Hahaha.. Okay, you can’t laugh at me. I am silly, yeah I got it. Hehehe.

So, after school I went to a mall nearby my house. I am wondering whether Periplus Bookstore Citos still have it. Because yesterday I went to Periplus Bookstore PIM and Twilight with any version of cover has sold out! And.. when I entered the store, I saw one Twilight Movie Companion. Only one copy left! So, I grabbed it immediately and bring it to cashier so I can paid it.

Wow. I almost lose my chance to buy Twilight Movie Companion again. And when I went home, I read it. Again. Hahaha..

Today, my friend bring The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling and she said that she bought it yesterday with a cheaper price than in Kinokuniya or Periplus. Soo.. I decide to hunt that book maybe this week or next week. I need to save some money after all. Hahaha..

Okay.. See you guys in my next post! Keep reading my blog, okay? =D

I Am A ‘Twilight-Hunter’

Hi, blogger, this is me. I haven’t posted any post recently, have I? Hehehe..
Now I got Twilight Fever since I watched the movie. Actually, I already have the Twilight Fever since I read the book, but not as strong as now haha. What am I talking about?

Anyway..
Now I’m becoming a hunter. Twilight Stuff Hunter. Seriously. I bought everything about Twilight recently. I bought Twilight : The Completed Illustration Movie Companion, Twilight Movie Companion (Indonesian Version), 1 pin ‘Edward Can Bite Me’, 1 Simple Calendar 2009, Movie Poster and several magazines which their highlights was about Twilight.

And I’ve watched Twilight in cinema 3 times. Hahaha. It’s new record for me because I’ve never watched anything in cinema more than twice.

I keep hunting Twilight Stuffs recently. Today, I went to a mall to know that Twilight English Version with the original cover has sold out. Huhuhu. So I went to another mall to buy Twilight Indonesian Version with movie cover but it’s already sold out too! And the I went again to another mall and lucky me, they have Twilight Indonesian Version with movie cover! And at that mall, suddenly I decided to buy Twilight English Version with movie cover. But they already sold out! I’ve been 2 different bookstore in different buildings (but still in the same mall) to ask whether they still have Twilight English Version (any cover version!) but they were out of stock!

Wow. Now I’m so tired because I went to 3 different malls and did a little running there. But I won’t give up to find Twilight English Version because I’m a hunter ahahaha.. Just kidding! =D
I hope there will be Twilight T-Shirt for free for everyone whose buy Twilight hahaha.

Because I live in Indonesia, Twilight Merchandises are really hard to find. We don’t have borders here so we can’t buy Twilight Calendar 2009 (so sad!) and even the soundtrack is not coming out yet! And I don’t really like to buy online because it’s difficult and expensive and we have to wait it long enough. Beside that, because I’m still 16, my parents won’t allowed me to buy online.

My next hunting is hunting The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling. It’s gonna be fun hahaha.. And I still want to hunting any Twilight T-Shirt too. Also Twilight books (Twilight English Version (original and movie cover) and New Moon English Version). Hahaha.. I’m becoming a real hunter! 8D

See you at next post!

p.s. If any of you want to buy a Twilight T-Shirt (I recommend this site for you who like to shop online; but maybe, for this time, that would not be me) http://www.twilighttshirts.com/index.php

Twilight Movie

Twilight. One of my favorite story, my favorite series. I watched Twilight Movie last Sunday, November 30 2008 with my friends. Have you seen it? If you haven’t, I really suggest you to go to cinema now! Hahaha. It’s simple, because the movie was totally awesome. I think.

I really love this poster. When I finished Twilight around 6 months ago, I didn’t know that the movie was in production. So, I have my own version of Edward haha. Not the Robert Pattinson’s version. I looked up in internet and found this movie poster and I totally love it! After that, I can’t wait to watch the movie. In the meantime, I read the other books. New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. Awesome stories, but my favorite one is still Twilight!

So, last Sunday I went to 21 Setiabudi with my other friends. Big thanks for Vanessa =)
Actually, the movie hasn’t released yet at cinema. I mean, it has already released, but still midnight. I think today is the real release date if you know what I mean.

Can you guess which one was me? Hahaha, I think it’s difficult right, because you’ve never seen my photos before (except when I was a child from the previous post). I never went to an event like this before. Watching together at cinema. In Bahasa called “Nonbar” stands for “Nonton Bareng”. I’ve ever went to Nonbar before, watched Spiderman 3, but I think this one was different.

It was definitely different because all the audience were in love with Edward Cullen hahaha.
And when the movie started, we all nervous to see how charming Edward Cullen could be. So, when Edward came out, everyone’s screaming. Wow. Hahaha. When the movie ended, I bought a badge says ‘Edward can Bite Me‘ for fun. And I wore it on my clothes for the rest of the day. Haha silly me.

Ok, now I want to talk about the movie. Honestly, I think the movie was great. I like the baseball scene, battle scene and the prom scene. The cast done their job very well too. Kristen Stewart potrayed Bella Swan very well. And even though I didn’t like the fact that Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen at first, now I can accepted it. It’s like he grew on me. Hahaha. I really like all the special effect. I want to make a movie like this someday.

Great pictures, right? So, what are you waiting for? Watch it now if you haven’t watched Twilight yet! It’s worth it. I really like how Catherine Hardwicke adapted the story from a book into a big screen. I know if people still saying that the movie is not good as the book. We can’t make everyone happy, right? But look at the positive side. How many adaptation movie that put the whole movie without any specific changes into two-hours-duration movie?

It’s all about hard work. They can do that because they believe they can. If you are in charge of making this movie, what would you do? If I were the director, I can’t make this movie as great as this one. It’s ok if something different from our imagination. So, let’s appreciate the hard work of the Twilight crew and enjoy the movie without any complain. Maybe you can’t help yourself to not complain but just keep it in your mind.

Sigh. It seems that I am going to come back to cinema to see Twilight for a second time this Friday. Who’s with me? =)

December. I’d likely to talk about new year on the next post, I think. See you then! Don’t be bored to read my post, blogger. If you do, please tell me. Hahahaha. Now, I am going to study for my coming-up Chemistry test tomorrow. Bye!
