The Beauty Of Indonesia

Hi, blogger! It’s seems a long time since my last post. So, what do you missing? Hmm.. I haven’t told you that I held a birthday party on last 2 weeks ago (on June 13, 2009 actually). And.. last week, I went to Solo and Jogja! =D

I’ve never been to Middle Java. I have been to West Java, East Java, Madura, Batam and Bali. So I asked my parents to have a short vacation to Solo and Jogja. I can say that both of those cities are cultural city and I cannot wait to learn my own culture =)

So, I was leaving Jakarta on June 19th, 2009 from Soekarno Hatta Airport to Adi Soeparmo Airport, Solo. The flight took 59 minutes with Garuda Indonesia.Solo, the city of Batik. Can’t wait to explore the city.

After we arrived, me and my family went to Sahid Hotel to take a rest and had dinner. The second day is a loooong day. I went to a museum about fossils. Then, went to Keraton Surakarta (used to be the king and queen palace and now it is a museum too). There were a lot of belief of Nyi Roro Jonggrang. They have a lot of traditions which is cool. And a lot of story I’ve never known.

After that, Batik Time! I bought a lot of cool Batiks. Because it’s cheaper than in Jakarta and the patterns are more unique. So Indonesia, so Solo haha. I love it. One of a kind and.. Indonesian culture is soo cool. I’m proud to be Indonesian.

And the foods are delicious. I’ve tried Soto Solo, Tengkleng, Bakmi Solo and Gudeg Jogja. I always thought when I heard the word ‘Solo’, the city will be full of Javanese people wearing Kebaya with bun hair and so traditional. I was wrong. It’s still traditional but it has a neat city. They have pedestrian precinct with big trees along with it which in Jakarta we still don’t have.

On the third day, we continued our journey to Jogja by car. It took about 2 hours from Solo to Jogja. We’re heading to Prambanan Temple. It’s cool and the weather was so hot. The sky was blue which is I love very much.

I bought the miniature of Prambanan Temple. By the way, now I’m collecting Indonesian Stuffs. Because I think of this. Everytime we went to other country, we bought souvenirs. But why don’t I start to collect Indonesia’s cultural stuff like Angklung, Batik, Cangklok, Handycraft, etc? Someday I want to have my own gallery to show all my collections (by the way, I used to be a filately too :D)

Back to the story, after about an hour at Prambanan Temple, we’re going to Borobudur Temple. If I don’t mistaken, Borobudur Temple have been on 7 Wonder World List couple years ago. It is nice but so big. Hahaha. I didn’t expect it would that big. Compared to Prambanan Temple, it’s so different and big. And it has stairs which is so steep and high. And it has stupas and if you can touch the statue inside the stupa, your wish will come true. I didn’t try it, but my brother did.

It was so hot that I want to go back as soon as possible. If you want to got tan, I surely recommend to go to Jogja. The sun is hot that you can got tan easily. You don’t have to go to beach =p

And after that, we went to Malioboro and bought a lot of souvenirs. Love that place. I can have more unique things to be add to my Indonesian Collection. Maybe someday I should hunting again to Malioboro. After hunting, we ate Gudeg and went to Adisoetjipto Airport to go back to Jakarta.

Then, that’s all I can say for now. But the short trip was very fun. Even though now I still very tired hehe. Hmm.. so I’ve been to Middle/Central Java. Now I want to go to Sumatra. I’ve never been to Sumatra. I wish I can go there before I go to college. I want to go to Palembang, Padang or Lombok. Hope can go there someday. I want to traveling Indonesia, my own country, my beloved and beautiful country.

Now is June 23, 2009, what should I do? Summer is still long until go-back-to-school thingy on July 13, 2009. I hope more fun will come! Where will you go/do for holiday? Just tell me! =D

Okay then, I am going to sleep now. See you next time. Thanks for reading my ‘travel blog’ and.. bye bye!

Surpriiise!

Hi, blogger! Today I got a surprise from my best friends..

So, today, after school, I went to Pondok Indah Mall (PIM) to do some shopping with my mom. Suddenly, Yasmine called me. She asked, where was I. Firzi text me too. I don’t ask much when Yasmine said she was going to PIM to meet some of her friends and asked me to accompany her for awhile until her friends come.

I met my mom at 2 pm and Yasmine arrived at PIM on the same time (well, I guess so). When me and my mom decided to go to Es Teller 77 Restaurant to grab some foods, Yasmine wanted to join us. In the middle of lunch, suddenly I heard somebody sing a very familiar song.

“Happy Birthday to you.. Happy Birthday to you..’

It was Arien and Firzi! Hahaha.. I was surprised! The last time I met Arien was at Yasmine’s birthday party on April. They brought some cute cakes from Parish with candles. And it is something I didn’t expected at all! So, I blew the candles and ate the cake. Hehe..

Hahaha thank you guys for the surprise! Delicious cake, by the way.. or it’s just me who always hungry when seeing cakes? Hehehe.. but I bet, it’s the cake =D Love you all and you’re the best!

Then, the other good news! My exam week is over which means holiday time! Horay!
I always love June because of school holiday and my birthday :) Hope this year I can have a good summer holiday. And I’m kinda curious to watch High School Musical The Ice Tour on July.

Gotta go now, thanks for reading my post :)

Bye bye and see ya’!

Yes, today is June 9!

Hi, blogger! Wow.. I haven’t updated my blog since may 24 T_T

Today is June 9, which is my 17th birthday! Horaay hahaa.. =D Well then, this is my first day being 17 and.. I just happy haha.. In Indonesia, there’s no ’sweet sixteen’ but ’sweet seventeen’. In this age, we can get our ID Card, Driver’s License, and vote for president. Sounds cool? Yeah, I guess.

Hmm.. don’t know what to write for now.. But I promise I’ll try to update my blog more often. Thanks for reading my post. Bye bye and see ya’!
